The internet push is now the modern enabler for an artist’s ascension. Rising star Tokyo’s Revenge is all too familiar with its results. Earlier this year, his breakout single “GOODMORNINGTOKYO!” caught viral steam on TikTok and has since racked 128 million streams on Spotify and counting. Its screamo-whisper soundbite and charismatic vocal acrobats was the perfect combination to conjure a storm.
