6 British Artists to Watch in 2021

2020 saw the rise (and potentially the fall?) of Dutchavelli, as well as an international takeover by Young T & Bugsey with their hit single “Don’t Rush” which featured superstar Headie One. This was all possible even through a global pandemic and with things gradually going back to normal. We have handpicked a few artists who have great potential to make 2021 their year.

Wewantwraiths

The first is Wewantwraiths, who hails from Leicester, England. He popped up on to the scene under 6 months ago and has already amassed over 4 million views all on his own YouTube channel, something which is very rare in this day and age of underground music. Here is his hit single “Chanaynay”.

Ghostface600

Ghostface600 is another artist that should not be overlooked in the year to come. Part of the group Block 6, he has constantly released heat. He was recently mentioned on social media as one of the best rappers in terms of the subject of ‘pain’ and his song “Pain in My Chest” is concrete evidence of this.

Teeway

Teeway, a rapper who is credited as being one of the inspirations to the Netflix Original Top Boy as well as having his song “Feeling It” featured on the official soundtrack, he is deemed to be the only artist on the song “Year of the Real” to still be underrated – as Meekz, M1llionz and Pa Salieu have all had a very successful year. Listen to his “Mad About Bars” freestyle below.

Mnelia

The R&B scene in the UK has been suffering for some time now. However, at the beginning of the year a new artist emerged giving us a breath of fresh air. Mnelia gained over a million views on her single “Say Yeah”, and she has decided to end the year with another hit as part of her EP, After 6. Mnelia is showing that she is someone that can begin the new wave of UK R&B. Listen to her song “Shoot” below.

Odeal

Another artist that is heavily underappreciated is Odeal. He has been consistent with his hooks on albums such as Crabs in a Bucket by Nines, as well as Abra Cadabra’s project, Love or Lust. He has ended the year with an EP which includes his smooth and mellow single, “24/48”.

Melvitto & Gabzy

Lastly is a duo that have not disappointed at all. The first artist being Melvitto, the man who produced “Your Number” by Ayo Jay, alongside the London based artist, Gabzy. Their song “4 Nothin” has had millions of streams across all platforms after releasing in 2019 and so during the summer of 2020 they decided to give us “Trouble”. Melvitto and Gabzy are most definitely a duo that have an exciting future in music.
