Yef’s ‘Rebuilding An Empire’ EP is Not Your Typical UK Project

Amongst a busy year for UK music, British artist and producer Yef releases the diverse Rebuilding An Empire to perk your ears up.

On Rebuilding An Empire, Yef dares to be different. Born Jeffrey Acquah and raised in London, his nine-track EP showcases a unique talent to branch out into various genres. Across the project, Yef incorporates elements of alternative hip hop, lofi, Afrobeats and Amapiano to deliver highlights like “A Real Royal”, “Take Me”, “The iPhone Song” and “Biscuit Mixer”.

The tracks “Biscuit Mixer” and “The iPhone Song” were inspired by viral TikToks that Yef posted on the platform. Initially a producer making beats on his phone, Yef’s taken on rapping and global collaborations to deliver Rebuilding An Empire, a process that was documented in a mini-series.

With such a diverse palette on show, Yef’s EP is worth twenty-one minutes of your time.
