Ohio rapper HonorRoll explores how his hometown holds back upcoming artists on his latest track, “Queen City”.
Rappers often record odes to their city, but HonorRoll finds a different take to explore on “Queen City”. The soulful song highlights the crabs in a barrel mentality that plagues his environment, particularly as a rapper trying to make a name for himself. It is a necessary song that bravely addresses the elephant in the room.
Speaking on the track, HonorRoll stated: “Long story short, My city is very unsupportive of up and coming talents. So I wanted to put it out there that my city could be a force if it wasn’t so divided.”
