Mudai and Mad Sadiq drop their debut single, “MO”, as the duo gear up for their full-length collaborative project.
The underground scene continues to birth talent day by day. Its latest inductees are Mudai, a young hip hop producer from San Antonio, Texas, and rapper Mad Sadiq of Atlanta, Georgia. The duo’s first collaborative single is titled “MO”, a two-and-a-half minute teaser for their upcoming tape.
From top to bottom, “MO” is booming with raw hip hop energy, boasting vintage drums and a shimmering sample brought together by Mudai. Mad Sadiq does the production justice, stringing bars that creatively flip the track’s namesake (“This is MO, most official in fact […] / More obtainment of racks / More originality in the stash, perhaps”). For a debut collab, “MO” shows impressive range and chemistry from the tag team; a track that sells the blueprint to the listener with no need for negotiation.
“MO” draws influence from hip hop greats such as The Alchemist, Freddie Gibbs and Isaiah Rashad, with Mudai and Mad Sadiq looking to follow in their footsteps. If “MO” is anything to go by, they are certainly on the right track.
The duo’s full-length project, titled Capri, is slated to be released in February.
