South London rapper Still Shadey has released his sixth studio project, an 8-track LP titled How to Kill a Caterpillar.
The Croydon native has been loading a new project throughout 2021, dropping singles such as “Heaven”, “Blessings” and “Undone Ties”. With a title inspired by Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp a Butterfly, Still Shadey’s How to Kill a Caterpillar arrives at 29 minutes, executive production from longtime collaborator, Sampah, and guest appearances from Condoseven, Jo Joey, Melvillous and SK.
Accompanied by vibrant cover art, the album follows a children’s storybook narrative, unpacking Shadey’s Christian upbringing and the violence he witnessed growing up.
Speaking on the album, Shadey noted: “Every season has a caterpillar and a butterfly. Change is painful. But nothing is more painful than being stuck somewhere you don’t belong.”
