West London singer Maxi Millz has released his 9-track debut project, Captions.
At a length of 24 minutes, the debut EP features singles such as “Sound of the Gun”, “Burning Ears” and “Danny Ocean”. It includes production from Fred Cox, BNYX, Humble the Great and more, whom aid Maxi Millz in curating his blend of hip hop, funk and R&B.
Captions is a product of the UK national lockdown that spanned from 2020 to mid-2021, featuring themes of digital communication (“Screen Time”) while slotting in film references and stories of troubled love.
Speaking on the EP, Maxi Millz expressed: “The project is about relationships, the highs and lows, the different stages… from the infatuation filled honeymoon stage to the boring routine that a lot of relationships fall into, I tried to condense all the emotions I have felt in relationships, small and big, into a small project, Captions.”
Captions is out now to purchase and stream on all digital platforms.
